Camelot ITLab launches Hypertrust Identity Management at SAP TechEd 2018

New application helps to solve trust issues in blockchain-based business transactions

Media, PA. October 02, 2018 – Camelot Innovative Technologies Lab (Camelot ITLab) today announced a new distributed application based on its Hypertrust Platform at SAP TechEd in Las Vegas. Hypertrust Identity Management helps ensure trust in blockchain-based business transactions, e.g. within supplier relation scenarios, by enabling secure identity management and claim validation. It is one of the first applications leveraging the Hyperledger Indy technology in combination with SAP software.

Business transactions that are executed via a blockchain network (“smart contracts”) rely on a clear identification of its participants and secure claim validation. Generally, distributed identity management systems such as Hyperledger Indy, offer claim validation based on asymmetric encryption and basic proof methods. However, the functionalities provided are not sufficient for more complex or real-time claim proof algorithms as needed e.g. for regulatory or quality assurance measures. This is why Hypertrust Identity Management combines the claim validation functionalities of Hyperledger Indy with extended real-time claim validations based on Camelot Trusted Computing Appliances. Trusted Computing Appliances are Camelot ITLab’s solution for so-called “off-chain smart contracts”, leveraging SAP blockchain services and Intel SGX. Hypertrust Identity Management is the latest application of Camelot’s Hypertrust Platform, a blockchain-based permissioned platform of distributed apps for targeted use cases across the entire value chain of companies.

“Hypertrust Identity Management is another successful milestone in our track record of providing pioneering digital solutions that solve true business issues”, said Steffen Joswig, Managing Partner of Camelot ITLab, commenting on the launch of the new application.

In addition, Camelot’s blockchain experts will present the new Camelot Blockchain Accelerator for Mobile Device Management, powered by SAP Leonardo, which helps end the re-use of stolen mobile devices.

Camelot ITLab has been a partner of SAP since the early hours of the SAP Blockchain co-innovation program and co-authored a whitepaper about off-chain smart contracts with DellEMC. The whitepaper can be found at www.camelot-itlab.com/en/blockchain-whitepaper/

Camelot ITLab to Present Solutions for Blockchain Privacy at SAP TechEd, Las Vegas

Camelot Trusted Computing Appliances first time showcased

Media, PA. September 28, 2018 – Camelot Innovative Technologies Lab (Camelot ITLab) will showcase its solution Trusted Computing Appliances for the first time at the Intel booth at SAP TechEd, Las Vegas, October 2-5, 2018. Camelot Trusted Computing Appliance provides a strong solution for privacy on blockchain, leveraging SAP services and Intel technology.

Camelot ITLab presents at SAP TechEd a solution for leveraging Intel SGX based trusted computing capabilities together with SAP blockchain services to enable businesses to share sensitive data in a blockchain network. “This is a huge step forward for the privacy attributes of blockchains. The recently announced partnership of SAP and Intel in the blockchain space further amplifies the business need for such a solution,” said Steffen Joswig, Managing Partner at Camelot ITLab.

Camelot Trusted Computing Appliances help to overcome a substantial problem: Though security is one of a blockchain’s main attributes, blockchains are generally not considered secure for processing sensitive data, as per definition data in a basic blockchain network can be viewed by all parties connected.

The presented use case originates from the iron and steel industry. It enables steel manufacturers to make trustworthy statements about their products. In detail, this mechanism can proof if their secret product recipe contains any regulated ingredients. All this, without revealing the protected recipe to any audience within the private blockchain network.

Camelot ITLab is a partner of SAP since the early hours of the SAP Blockchain co-innovation program and also created a whitepaper about off-chain smart contracts with DellEMC. The whitepaper can be found at http://www.camelot-itlab.com/en/blockchain-whitepaper/
