New solution provides high planning security
Mannheim, June 12, 2018 – Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions GmbH, known for the Vileda® brand, has commissioned Camelot Innovative Technologies Lab GmbH (Camelot ITLab) to improve its demand planning processes by implementing SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for Demand. With the support of Camelot and the forward-looking SAP IBP solution, Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions is raising its supply chain planning processes to a new level
Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions is a leading international branded goods company for cleaning supplies and systems and laundry care products. The products are known worldwide under the brand names Vileda®, O-Cedar®, Wettex®, Gala®, Marigold®, Oates®, and Gimi®.
The decision to go with Camelot enables Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions to benefit from the expertise of a market-leading consultancy in the area of supply chain transformation with over 100 prestigious references. “We are happy to have found in Camelot a consulting partner who not only has a great deal of expertise in SAP IBP implementation, but also has a precise understanding of our special market environment and the corresponding supply chain processes,” says Christian Keller, project manager at Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions. Camelot is a development partner of SAP SE for SAP IBP and co-innovated the pioneering “Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP)” concept for SAP IBP.
Project objective and schedule
To prepare the company for future growth and the growing complexity of the supply chain, Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions is currently implementing a new sales and operations planning process with corresponding roles and KPIs. The objective of the process is to be able to align sales planning, financial planning and demand planning in the medium term. A key element in supporting this efficiently is the introduction of SAP IBP as a new, integrated planning system.
The first step is to replace the current sales planning system, SAP APO Demand Planning, with SAP IBP for Demand. This will result in a number of direct improvements, such as the integration of prices and values, the creation of scenarios, improved statistical forecasts and increased user acceptance thanks to the modern and flexible user interface. In implementing SAP IBP, Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions is also establishing an open platform that will enable the company to react even better to the requirements of digital transformation in the future.
Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions expects the introduction of the new processes supported by SAP IBP to result, in the medium term, in clear improvements to forecast deviations, increased customer service levels, reduced inventory levels, and increased productivity.
“As a successful, innovative company, Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions requires processes and systems that can be adapted to a complex and constantly changing market environment in order to react flexibly to future developments and trends,” says Steffen Joswig, CEO and CTO of Camelot ITLab, about the contract: “We are very pleased to be able to accompany Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions on its path to future-proof supply chain planning.” Camelot will support the project with its well-founded industry and process expertise and with tried and proven project management methods. Prior to implementing SAP IBP, the company will also introduce a sophisticated, segment-based forecast process. Implementation will then begin with pilot projects in two countries.
With the help of the SAP IBP StarterKit from Camelot, users will be introduced to the solution at an early stage in the project, thereby ensuring a high rate of user acceptance. All told, Camelot anticipates a project term of six months for all phases of the pilot implementation.
